Furnace off-gas plant for Braemore Resources
A finite element analysis of furnace off-gas ducting led to a design where the combustion of furnace gas takes place in the duct. The duct system, which is water cooled, is insulated from the furnace roof and has a swing-out section which allows for easy maintenance and offers considerable additional safety features. Since the furnace roof is “live” – 22 000 volts – the fact that the duct can be accessed away from the furnace roof is a major safety feature.
Automated robotic laboratory for Anglo Platinum Ltd
An automated robotic laboratory for analytic plant was designed. Enviroplus Design was appointed under a sub-contract agreement to manage the installation of the plant.
Consol Glass scrubber
Enviroplus designed a horizontal scrubbing unit for the removal of chrome VI fumes from the glass making process. A further feature of the scrubbing unit is that it uses no packing but instead employs a removable demister pad.
